Budgetku (“the app”) is a salary budget planner — you split each pay period’s income into groups and items, record what you actually spend, and review the result — published by G Labs. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
1. Who we are
Budgetku is published by G Labs. If you have any question about this policy or about your data, contact us on WhatsApp at +62 851-2802-5065.
2. What Budgetku stores on your device
Everything you enter is stored in a database inside the app’s own private storage on your device, which other apps cannot read:
- Plans — the name, start and end date, and income amount of each pay period you plan, plus the groups and items you allocate that income to.
- Transactions — amount, type (expense or income), date, optional note, the category you pick, and the plan item you link it to, if any.
- Categories — the names, colours and icons of your spending and income categories.
- App settings — language, currency, light or dark theme, the selected period, and whether Google Drive backup is connected.
- Google Drive sign-in tokens — only if you connect Google Drive (section 5). They are kept in the device’s encrypted keystore.
We cannot see any of this. It is on your device, not on a server. Budgetku never asks for your name, email address, phone number, bank details, or any account credentials.
On first launch the app creates a small sample plan so you can see how it works. That sample is generic, stored like everything else, and you can delete it.
3. Permissions Budgetku asks for, and why
| Permission | Why Budgetku needs it |
|---|---|
| Internet | To load ads from Google AdMob (section 4), and to upload or download your backup file from Google Drive when you use that feature (section 5). Your budget itself is never sent to G Labs. |
| Storage (Android 12 and older only) |
To let you save a backup file you export, and to open a backup file you choose to restore. On Android 13 and newer the system file picker handles this and no storage permission is requested. |
Budgetku does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, phone, SMS, or Bluetooth permissions.
4. Advertising
Budgetku is free and shows a small banner ad at the bottom of most screens. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To show and measure ads, the AdMob SDK running inside the app may collect and send to Google:
- your device’s advertising ID and basic device information (model, operating system version, language, screen size);
- your IP address, from which Google may infer a coarse location;
- ad interaction data — which ads were shown, viewed or tapped;
- diagnostic data about the ad request itself.
Your budget data is never part of this. AdMob has no access to the app’s database; it does not know your income, your plans, or your transactions. What Google does with the data it collects is described in Google’s Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Ads may be personalised based on your advertising ID. You can limit this on your device: Android Settings → Google → Ads lets you reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ads personalisation. Where local law requires it, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown.
5. Google Drive backup (optional)
Backup to Google Drive is off until you turn it on. If you tap Settings → Backup & Restore → Connect Google Drive, the following happens:
-
You sign in with Google in your browser. Budgetku asks for one permission only:
drive.appdata, which gives it access to a hidden, app-private folder in your Drive. It cannot see, read, or change any of your other Drive files. - Google hands the app a sign-in token. The token is stored in your device’s encrypted keystore and is used only to upload and download the backup file. G Labs never receives it.
- Each backup is a single file containing your plans, transactions, categories, and settings. It is uploaded from your device directly to your Google account. It never passes through a G Labs server, and we cannot read it.
- If you switch on Automatic backup, the same upload runs each time you open the app. You can turn it off at any time.
Disconnecting. Disconnect Google Drive deletes the token from your device. You can also revoke Budgetku’s access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and delete the backup file under Drive → Settings → Manage apps.
Budgetku’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The data is used only to provide the backup and restore feature you asked for.
6. Other times information leaves your device
Only ever because you chose to send it:
- Backup to a file. Tapping Back up data writes a backup file and hands it to Android’s share sheet. You choose where it goes — Google Drive, WhatsApp, a file on your phone. We never receive it.
- Restore from a file. You pick a backup file with the system file picker; the app reads it and replaces the data on the device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Apart from ads and the Google Drive backup described above, Budgetku makes no network requests. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no background sync to G Labs.
7. What we do not do
- No accounts, passwords, or sign-up — except the optional Google sign-in for Drive backup, which is between you and Google.
- No connection to your bank, e-wallet, or any payment provider. Budgetku records what you type; it never moves money.
- No analytics or usage tracking by G Labs.
- No selling or sharing of your budget data — we do not hold it, so there is nothing to sell.
- No third-party SDK other than Google AdMob (ads) and the Google sign-in flow for Drive backup.
8. Children
Budgetku is a personal finance tool intended for adults managing their own income. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Because the app shows ads, we do not recommend it for children.
9. Your control over your data
- See it — every plan, transaction, and setting is visible in the app.
- Correct it — tap any transaction, plan, group, item, or category to edit it; long-press to delete.
- Take it with you — Settings → Backup & Restore → Back up data exports everything as a file you own.
- Delete it — uninstalling Budgetku, or clearing its storage in Android settings, permanently erases the database and any Drive token on the device. If you used Google Drive backup, the backup file stays in your Google account until you delete it there (see section 5).
Because Budgetku has no accounts and holds nothing on a G Labs server, there is no account for us to delete and no data of yours for us to hand over or erase on request.
10. Security
Your data lives in app-private storage that other apps cannot read. Google Drive tokens are stored in the device’s hardware-backed keystore, and the connection to Google uses HTTPS. Please also protect the device itself with a screen lock: anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes — for example a new third-party service — will be noted in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
