Iqro Ummah
G-Labs · React NativePersonal project
Iqro Ummah helps families learn to read the Qur'an, from the first hijaiyah letter to reading the mushaf fluently. Version 2.0 is a complete rewrite of my original Flutter app in React Native and Expo, built to be faster, lighter and fully offline: no account, no analytics, no ads. Prayer times and the qiblah direction are calculated on the device, and notes and reading progress never leave the phone.

What I built
- Iqro volumes 1 to 6 in a swipeable reader with progress saved per volume.
- Complete Qur'an, 30 juz, with the Kemenag RI translation, optional Latin transliteration and last-read bookmarks.
- Tajwid: 10 chapters, 37 rules and 119 Arabic examples with tap-to-listen audio.
- Study notes that link to an Iqro page, a verse or a tajwid rule, stored on-device.
- Prayer times computed on-device with adhan using Kemenag-compatible angles, GPS or city search, and per-prayer reminders.
- Qiblah compass from the magnetometer and great-circle bearing to the Kaaba.
- Indonesian and English, dark and light themes, gluestack-ui v3 design tokens.
